Pauline Pearl Bittle, age 88, of Greers Ferry passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, at Baptist Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Miller on April 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Pearl (Harmon) Verser.
Mrs. Bittle was a lifetime resident of Cleburne County and a member of the Brownsville Baptist Church.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Pauline was a homemaker who loved being outdoors, gardening, and working in her flowerbeds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Orvil Bittle; and one son, Gerald Bittle.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennieve Price of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sons, Bruce Bittle and his wife, Oveta, of Independence, Mo., Burl Bittle and his wife, Kathy, of Brownsville, and Jim Bittle and his wife, Mary, of Smithville, N. C.; two sisters, Anna Lee Finch and Thelma Bailey of Brownsville. Mrs. Bittle is also survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held on June 22 in the Brownsville Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Cothren officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brownsville Cemetery.  Dale Johnson, Jackie Finch, David Finch, David Holley, Dan Bailey, and Billy R. Verser will serve as pallbearers.
