James Leroy Clayton, age 51, of Drasco passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs. Born in Heber Springs on March 4, 1959, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Boyer) Clayton.
A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, James was a construction worker. He was a Christian. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Clayton, and one sister, Martha Clayton.
He is survived by six brothers, Bill Reeves, Junior Clayton, Gene Clayton, Johnny Clayton, Henry Clayton, and Richard Clayton; and two sisters, Lela Garrison and Linda Reed. James is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 10, at Olmstead Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Rolland, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery. Henry Clayton, Junior Clayton, Sammy Settlemire, Ira Garrison, Ronnie Fortner, Richard Clayton, and Bennie Rorie served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Jim Miller.
