Arvil Skinner of Quitman died January 22, 2012, at his home.  Born in Gravesville on March 18, 1933, he was 78. He was the son of the late Hayden and Hannah (Holland) Skinner.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Scantlin) Skinner of Quitman; one son, Dewayne Skinner of Greenbrier; one daughter, Connie Begley of Quitman; one brother, Troy Skinner of Quitman; five sisters, Mary Lou Taylor, Verdarhea Langrell, Martha Sue Douglas, Evangeline Morris, and Marvelle Williams; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Funeral services will be held January 25 at 2 p.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Bro. Johnny Vaughan officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Salem Cemetery.  Robert Hill, Tim Skinner, Johnny Douglas, James Douglas, Jeremiah Rice, and Devin Brown will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Spillers and Carthel Pearce.
