Joseph W. Larson, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.  Born on March 19, 1931 in Rochelle, Ill., to the late Fred T. and Mary K. Larson.  Joe was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the army as a deep sea diver.  He worked in public works for the cities of Rochelle, Ill., St. Joseph, Mo., St. Louis, Mo., Little Rock, Arkansas and Barrington, Ill. before retiring in Heber Springs.  He enjoyed watching the wildlife around his house and the lake.
He was a member of St. Albert Catholic Church.  Mr. Larson was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Larson, two brothers Junior and Rev. F. James and two sisters, Francis Johnson And Mary LaFleur and one granddaughter, Casey Jo Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Lillian (Herrmann) Larson, three children, Sharon and husband Steve Unrue of Jacksonville, Fred and wife Donna Larson of Benton, Margaret and husband Gary Walker of Hot Springs, three grandchildren, and two great-grandsons and a host of friends and relatives.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3, from 6-8 p.m. at the Heber Springs Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at the St. Albert Catholic Church in Heber Springs. Internment will follow at the Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
