Ms. Alice Julia Kern of Dacula, Ga. passed away at age 64 on Friday, January 15, 2010 with her loving family members by her side. 
Born March 19, 1945 of John Paul Kern and Julia Kret Kern, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marchant Harris of Dacula, Ga.; son-in-law, Tim Harris of Dacula, Ga.; granddaughter, Mallory Harris of Kennesaw, Ga.; brother, Paul Kern of Harrison Township, Mich.; brother, Bobby Kern of Warren, Mich.; and sister, Judy Kern LaRue of Belleville, Mich.  Alice had many cousins, nieces and nephews and was the proud god-mother of Ronnie Makowski. 
She was born in Detroit, Mich., lived in Heber Springs for many years, and retired in Dacula, Ga.  She loved painting, gardening, reading, and cherished her close relationships with her family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to the American Cancer Society.
