Mr. Ira James Hill Jr., age 91, of Heber Springs, passed away June 2, 2009. He was born November 29, 1917 in Joliet, Ill., the son of the late Ira James Hill Sr. and Mary Agnes Burnes.
He was employed by Case International Farm Implements, was a U.S. Army Aircorp veteran and was of the Catholic faith. His hobbies included fishing and woodwork, in which he was a master craftsman.
He is survived by a son, Kevin P. Hill Sr. of Heber Springs; two daughters, Judith K. Rogers (Garry) of Davenport, Iowa, and Barbara J. Christlieb of Tuscon, Ariz.; grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Roemer Hill, a son, Ira J. Hill III, seven brothers and sisters, and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 6 at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Heber Springs.  Final interment will be held at a later date in East Moline, Ill.  Arrangements were under the direction of Heber Springs Funeral Home. Online obituary and guest book www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com
