Sam Vance Bryant, age 85, of Harrison, formerly of Heber Springs, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.
The son of Eugene and Sarah (Spears) Bryant was born May 12, 1924 at Indian Bay.
He was a member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained as a Deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church in Marvell. He was raised in Marvell where he worked for the city as the water workman, and was a self-employed plumber. He retired from plumbing in 2006 and moved to Harrison in 2007,
His parents preceded him in death along with his wife, Agnes Marie (Brown) Bryant; a son, Billy Wayne Bryant; and four brothers.
Survivors are his daughter, Barbara Werner and husband, Barry of Harrison; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bryant of Bryant; sisters, Blanche Catlett of Little Rock, Bertha Welch of Marvell and Recie Anderson of DeWitt; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held January 26 at Smalley Cemetery near Marvell. Bro. Harold Crisp will officiate and pallbearers are family members.
