Ewing Bailey, age 97, of Greers Ferry, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at his home.  Born in Miller on August 31, 1912, he was the son of the late Luther Whit and Lucy Bailey.
A longtime resident of Greers Ferry, Mr. Bailey was a retired mechanic.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Bailey’s religious belief was Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Bailey, on November 23, 2003.
Survivors include: one son, Terry Bailey of Greers Ferry; three daughters, Doris Moore and her husband, Ray, of Greers Ferry, Diane Bailey of Greers Ferry, and Phoebe Harris and her husband, Doug, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Jewell Pettit and Faye Henry, both of Heber Springs, and Virgie Heister of Modesto, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Cross Roads Community Church with Rev. Van Harness officiating.  Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery.  Pat Hooten, Mike Hooten, Harley Hooten, Seth Harris, Andrew Harris, and Joseph Harris will serve as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund, c/o Junior Hartsfield.
