William Andrew Bittle, age 76, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas passed away July 24, 2010 at Baptist Health in Heber Springs. Born August 23, 1933, in Brownsville, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Retha Edna Jackson Bittle and Walter M. Bittle. He was a U.S. Army veteran, American Legion Member and a member of the Holiday Hills Methodist Church in Greers Ferry.
He was a good neighbor taking care of many people, loved working in his flower and vegetable garden, heavily involved in community service and was active in his church.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Estill Bittle whom he married June 18, 1955; one brother, Gardner B. Bittle of Greers Ferry, Arkansas; four sisters, Dottie Terranova of Greers Ferry, AR, Jane McNeace of Searcy, AR, Mae Barnum of Maca, AZ and Frann Corshia of Garfield, AR and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Holiday Hills Methodist Church in Greers Ferry with Rev. Dan Brand officiating. A private interment will follow Friday afternoon by the family at Brownsville Cemetery near Greers Ferry.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heber Springs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Greers Ferry Holiday Hills Methodist Church, Angel Food Program and the Greers Ferry Ambulance Service. Online guestbook: www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com
