Charles William Prescott, age 82, passed away February 8, 2010 in Heber Springs. He was born January 23, 1928 in Exeter, New Hampshire to Robert Sereno and Lillian West Prescott.
He was an Eagle Scout and a Navy Veteran, retiring after 20 years with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was also a systems analyst and retired from Bucyrus Erie in South Milwaukee, Wisc. He was a true builder who used his skills building churches and remodeling homes of friends and family. He was a faithful member of the Apostolic Church of Heber Springs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Prescott; sisters Sadie Prescott and Marjorie Hairston, and a special uncle, Harold Prescott.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Prescott; one brother, Walter (Betty Jane) Prescott of Shannock, R.I.; three sisters, Betty Auten of Hereford, Ariz., Josie Campbell and Linda Umsted both of Wakefield, R.I.; one son, Marc Prescott (Aggie) of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Karen (Mark) Hertel of Evansville, Ind., and Ruth Esther (Josh) Goldman of Stuttgart. He also enjoyed four grandchildren, Kayla and Kyra Hertel and Rachel and Joshua Goldman, five nephews and four nieces and other family and many friends.
A visitation was held February 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Apostolic Church in Heber Springs. A funeral service was held February 13 at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Church.
