Allen Cecil Oliver was born to James and Martha Jane Townsend Oliver on October 10, 1911 in Rose Bud and died on March 9, 2010 in Little Rock.
He was a retired Postmaster of the Rose Bud Post Office and he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Beulah O’dell, Vertie Horton, Hettie Fisher, Hazel Horton, and Syble Carter; and two brothers, Achel Oliver and Rolland Oliver.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Pratt Oliver; two daughters, Betty Stalnaker and husband, Jim, of Mayflower, and Carol Spradlin of Quitman; three grandchildren, Allen Dixon, Paul Spradlin, and Jane Ballard; four great-grandchildren, Amber Spradlin, Christine Dixon, Courtney Dixon, and Ally Ballard; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 10, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Family Funeral Service, 106 South 4th Street in Heber Springs.
