Margaret N. Gratzer, 89, died peacefully at home in Denver, NC, in the presence of family on June 2, 2009. She was born in Welland, Ontario, Canada and attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, where she married and is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward G. Gratzer.
Margaret was preceded in death by her first son, Edward N. Gratzer (wife, Donna), and is survived by his two son’s, Tim (wife, Cynthia) and Travis (wife, Shanna) and their families, which include four great-grandchildren: Garek, Coby, Ella, and Chloe. She is also survived by her 3 other son’s: Alan Gratzer, his wife, Nancy, and their children, Abby, Mandy, Ryan, and foster-son, Aaron. Abby and her husband, Corey, also have a great-grandchild of Margaret’s, Elliot. Son, Steve Gratzer, lives in Texas with his wife, Kelly, and has two children, Haley and Christian. And, Gary Gratzer resides in Denver, NC with his wife, Andrea, and their son, Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Waychoff Senior Center, P.O. Box 831, Heber Springs, AR, 72543, as Margaret and Edward Gratzer were active volunteers at the Waychoff Senior Center throughout their many years of comfortable retirement living on Eden Isle in Heber Springs, AR. Margaret and Edward were also members of the First Presbyterian Church of Heber Springs and the family would like to thank them for their prayers.
