Betty June Verser, age 75, of Woodrow, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. She was born in Almond, Arkansas, on August 24, 1934.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nathan Noel Verser, on August 23, 2000. Mrs. Verser was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one son, Gary Verser and his wife, Jeanelle, of Woodrow; one daughter, Jo Baggett and her husband, Jeff, of Ida; seven grandchildren, Heith Barger and his wife, Kerri, Cody Lynn Verser, Cole Allen Verser, Natalie West and her husband, Mel, Kelly Verser, Natasha Barger, and Casey Verser; five great-grandchildren, Cody Heith Barger, Kelsey Verser, Noelle West, Josie Hannah West, and Lain Verser; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Verser is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Mrs. Verser was employed at Skil Corporation at Heber Springs for several years and developed lifelong friendships with many. She loved canning, working in her garden, but her greatest desire was caring for her family and many friends.
Her incredible heart and sweet, kind spirit will be sorely missed by family members and friends alike. Her religious belief was Baptist.
Funeral services were held Aug. 18 at the Woodrow Church with Rev. John Stoner officiating. Interment followed in the Verser Cemetery. Heith Barger, Cole Allen Verser, Kelly Verser, Casey Verser, Jamie Hipp, and Jason Hipp will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Barger, Stephen Davis, Justin Hipp, Mel West, and Cody Lynn Verser.
