John D. Hickman, age 69, of Drasco, passed away at his home on Monday, January 18, 2010.  Born in Drasco on September 23, 1940, he was the son of the late John Allen and Lena Alma Teal Hickman.
A longtime resident of Drasco, Mr. Hickman was a mail carrier and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife,  Naomi Hickman of Drasco; one son, John Hickman of Drasco; one daughter, Deanna Turner of Drasco; one brother, Elton “Chuck” Hickman of Onia; one sister, Leta Jo Johnson of Drasco; and one grandchild, Ashley Turner. Mr. Hickman is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Funeral services were held January 21 at the Oak Grove Church with Bro. Darvin Carlton officiating.  Interment followed in the Sipes Cemetery.  Briggs Carlton, Donald Prince, Jeremy Brackett, David Turner, David Holeman, and Verdell Stair served as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers were John Johnson and Allen Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family: Naomi Hickman, P. O. Box 362, Drasco, AR  72530.
