Stewart Randolph Porter Sr. was born on September 25, 1941 to Henry and Emily Hannah Porter in Yazoo City, Miss. and died Tuesday June 23, 2009 in Rose Bud at the age of 67.
He was a commercial artist for over 25 years. For 10 years he served as the Landscape Artist in charge of maintenance for Park Hill Baptist Church, a job he truly loved. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved his little dog “Sissy”. He was of the Baptist Faith. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stewart R. Porter Jr.; and a brother, Roy Porter.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Cook Porter; a step-son, Lance Watson and wife, Michelle, of Rose Bud; a daughter, Elizabeth Buford of Yazoo City, Miss.; three brothers, William Porter, Earl Porter and wife, Jamie, Roy Porter and wife, Carolyn; two sisters, Elizabeth Ricker and husband, Nolan, Faye Gordon; mother-in-law, Della Cook; two sisters-in-law, Becky Rygiel and husband, Tad, Gena Skinner; a brother-in-law, Sherman Cook; six grandchildren, Nicki, Joseph, Marcus, Hallie, Logan, Caleb; six nieces and six nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Coker, Ronnie Ricker, Eulas Abbott, Jim Sanders, John Blackwell, Brad Chaney, Kenny Harrison, Dennis Murray.
Pallbearers were Lance Watson, Mike Ricker, Dallas Porter, William Porter, Reed Porter and John Wooley.
Funeral Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Rose Bud on June 25 with Dr. Cary Heard and Bro. Mitch Vikers officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family Funeral Service in charge of the arrangements.
