William Calvert "Bill" Lindsey, lovingly known as "Pop", departed this life to join his savior and Lord in his eternal home in heaven on Saturday, June 27, at 12:40 p.m. at the White County Medical Center in Searcy.  Born in Milo on February 9, 1932, he was 77 years of age.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Clyde Lindsey and his mother Clauzell Slaughter, and two brothers, Thomas Seraette and Virgil Seraette.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 55 years Mavis Lindsey of Heber Springs, one son Billy Lindsey and his wife Carol of Heber Springs, one daughter Terri White and husband Matt of Heber Springs, one sister Delores Kennard of Heber Springs, six grandchildren Jared Lindsey and wife Ashley of Heber Springs, Nathan Lindsey and wife Roxanne of Quitman, Amanda Nelson and husband Cody of Heber Springs, Lindsey Coles White of Heber Springs, Colton and Conner Lindsey of Heber Springs, two great-grandchildren Alexcia Lindsey of Quitman and Ella Grace Lindsey of Heber Springs, one stepbrother Thomas Davis of Andrews, Texas. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Bill was a veteran, having served in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a founding member of The Atoka Shrine Club of Heber Springs. Bill was a former board member and past president of The Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River Regional Tourism Association. He was active in The Arkansas Hospitality Association for many years. Bill was Baptist and a charter member of Heber Springs Baptist Church.
Pop and Nan together founded Lindsey's Resort on The Little Red River where with vision and determination they pioneered the trout fishing industry of The Little Red. He loved work, building, travel, and fishing but most of all he loved God and family. He was a nurturing and loving husband, father, grandfather, and provider. He was a doting grandfather that loved nothing more than spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His absence creates a great sadness for his family, relatives, and friends here on this earth and joyous celebration inside the gates of heaven where we are sure he has already submitted plans to Jesus to improve the operation of those gates!
The entire Lindsey Family thanks you for your many prayers, your love, and your support at this time.
