Giving thanks
Dear Editor:
Here’s another “post thanks”, starting with thankfulness for both that people are not animals. Many people would be in the bottom breed, those who destroy their own environment and who have no instinct for self-preservation.
People called Pilgrims arrived at a continental “wilderness” they “abhorred”, and as it is also recorded” history they nearly starved in their ignorance of survival in a North American winter. Had the already settled Amerindians on the land they loved considered the “white” illegal immigrants “animals”, well, U.S. History might be quite thanklessly different Yet, continuing and increasingly ungrateful European migration herded like animals the AMERINDIANS not massacred onto Reservations, their prior occupancy ignored by a militant takeover. Treaties were broken if ever made and still are. Many were enslaved. Their children were kidnapped to be “Christianized” with socks and shoes and an imposed social ideology totally alien to the indigenous and appropriate culture of the land held Sacred from East to West by its tribal occupants.
“We cannot sell it because it does not belong to us-but only the Great Spirit”, observed a great Amerindian Chief from Montana. “Only to the settlers was nature a ‘wilderness’ and the people ‘savage’. We were surrounded with the blessings of the Great Mystery. Not until the man from the east came and with brutal frenzy heaped injustice upon us and the families we loved was it the ‘wild west’ “, testifies another great Amerindian Chief of the Dakotas.
Dazzling and remarkable inventions and accomplishments sprinkle U.S. History along with evident desecration of the land and corresponding disregard for survival. Because U.S. History is also sprinkled with those recorded Amerindian words and many more alike, thankfully misguided religious and political leadership can yet be corrected by heeding the obvious Source of their inherent Wisdom.
For the Amerindian Heritage exceeds one Thanksgiving Day a year. To give continuing generations Thanksgiving for better choices than before us the Truth of that whole historical story must be accepted, for only the Truth can keep us free to choose.

Huckabee strikes again
Dear editor:
Our shameless, dishonorable former governor Mike Huckabee has shed innocent blood again.  This time it’s cops blood, which likely thrills him since he so hates the criminal justice system.
Huckabee may be a whining, sniffling, blame every else sissy, but he’s no dummy.  He’s an egotistical, money hungry, gluten that knew exactly what he was doing when he pardoned over 1,000 prisoners, which is over twice as many as the three previous governors combined.
There’s money and influence connected with a pardon or commutation.  He commuted or pardoned Wayne DuMond over the pleas of Ashley Stevens whom DuMond raped.  DuMond went on to kill Carol Shields in Missouri.
Huck couldn’t have known?
Pulaski County prosecuting attorney Larry Jegley seemingly did everything possible except put a shotgun in Huckabee’s face trying to stop this flood of pardons.
Huckabee led the Victory 2,000 campaign for George W. Bush.  Without Arkansas, Bush would have lost the campaign.  The Huck forces violated Federal Election Commission laws with over funding, the largest violation to this day.  The state Republican Party had to pay a $300,000 fine, which should have been $1.5 million, but they had their man in the big house.
Now Huck and his gang would have us believe they did not contact prisoner’s families and offer a hope of pardon for campaign support?  Nooooo.  That’s how the system works folk.
I counseled a family member of a county sheriff long ago and was told how the sheriff brutally operated.  There was a store robbery one night in which the husband and wife storeowners were both killed.  No one was ever found to charge.  The sheriff’s family member told me he knows exactly who did it and has enough evidence to sent the killers to the electric chair.  I was told the sheriff used the guys who killed the storeowners to do his dirty work.  If anyone crossed the sheriff there would be an accident, farm equipment destroyed, barn burned, cattle missing or other such things.
And, I’m not a Democrat.
