          Heber Springs senior Clint Ligon won the 300 hurdles and the Panthers' 4x400 Relay team edged Marion for first place in a tight race as the three-time defending 4A outdoor state champions showed they can compete with anybody in Arkansas despite less than half the enrollment of many 6A and 7A schools competing at Saturday's Meet of Champs.
          Heber Springs senior Clint Ligon won the 300 hurdles on Saturday at the Meet of Champs held at Lake Hamilton High School. Ligon also placed second in the 110 hurdles.

          The Heber Springs Lady Panthers outscored six-time defending 4A champion Nashville in the 4A state track and field meet on Thursday at Panther Stadium. However, the Crossett Lady Eagles, who recently dropped down from Class 5A, dominated the meet with 189 points as junior Kelsey Herman led the way with a meet-high 52.5 points.

          Heber Springs set the new gold standard for track and field in the state of Arkansas by running away with the 4A state outdoor meet on Thursday at Panther Stadium. The championship capped the Panthers' journey to their second Triple Crown ¬ a feat not accomplished by any other school regardless of classification.
          The Heber Springs track and field team won the 4A outdoor state title to complete its second Triple Crown, which is an Arkansas record.
