Representing the Greater North Arkansas Racquetball Association, Bartlett and Gowen dropped only one game in their four matches of the round-robin event held Friday night. Association members John Frederick of Pangburn and Jonathan Swan of Heber Springs finished fourth, while Steve Ferguson of Tumbling Shoals and Steve Castleberry of Heber Springs finished fifth.
In Saturday's singles matches, Gowen finished as runner-in in the men's C division. Gowen won his opening round match in straight games, then, lost a tie-breaker to Bartlett. However, Bartlett then withdrew from the tournament due to a back injury. That allowed Gowen to advance to the semi-finals and win in a tie-breaker. The final match was again decided by a tie-breaker.
Swan won his first-round match in a tie-breaker to reach the quarter finals of the C division.
Competing in the D division singles, Frederick won his first round match to reach the semi-finals. Ferguson dropped his first round match, but then won the second, to reach the finals of the consolation bracket. Castleberry lost both his matches.
