Heber’s Post 64 Expos split with Stuttgart Tuesday as they bounced back from a 7-5 defeat in the A game by thumping Stuttgart 13-4 in the AA nightcap at the Heber Springs City Fields.

Stuttgart 7, Heber 5

Stuttgart scored one run in the first inning and six in the fourth then held on for a victory in Game 1. Post 64 starting pitcher Garrett Wheeler issued consecutive walks to Logan Ward and Reid Counce to start the game before J.J. Kersieck lifted a sacrifice-fly to right field that moved both runners into scoring position.
Tyler Henderson followed with an RBI groundout to Spencer Adcock at shortstop that scored Ward but Wheeler evaded further damage by getting Logan Ballew to pop-out to Adcock at shortstop.
In the bottom of the first, Henderson, Stuttgart’s starting pitcher, issued a walk to Adcock and Caleb Brock reached on an error before Henderson fired back with two straight strikeouts. Then he got Chas Tamburo to groundout to Counce at second, ending the first frame.
Wheeler retired Stuttgart in order in the top of the second as Trevor Freemyer popped out to Brock at first base, John Godwin bounced out to Tanner Rockwell at shortstop and Lukas Murray flied out to Brett Boister in center field.
Henderson opened the bottom half with a strikeout before Tyler Reese ripped a single up the middle and moved to second on a wild pitch but Henderson battled back with two more strikeouts.
Wheeler cruised through the top of the third as he got Travis Davenport to groundout to Adcock at shortstop then he recorded a strikeout with a filthy curveball before Counce flied out to Boister in center field.
The Expos tied the game with a run on two hits in the bottom of the third. Adcock roped a single through the hole on the left side then Brock placed a perfect bunt down the third base line for a single.
Henderson responded with a strikeout but issued a walk to Boister before Tamburo’s RBI groundout to Ballew at third brought home Adcock, knotting the game at 1-up.
Henderson stranded two runners in scoring position by getting Levi Garriott to pop out to Kersieck at first.
Stuttgart blew the game open by scoring six runs on four hits in the top of the fourth. Kersieck slapped a single through the hole on the right side and advanced to second on a wild pitch then Henderson and Ballew drew consecutive walks, loading the sacks.
Wheeler used a nasty curveball for a strikeout but Godwin reached on an RBI fielder’s choice that scored Kersieck and Henderson after the Expos committed a throwing error.
Murray followed with an RBI single to center field that scored Ballew then Davenport drew a walk before Ward’s sacrifice-fly RBI to Boister in center scored Godwin, giving Stuttgart a 5-1 lead.
With two down, Ward swiped second then Counce delivered a 2 RBI single to center field that plated Davenport and Ward, extending Stuttgart’s lead to 7-1.
After Kersieck reached on an infield single, Wheeler retaliated with a strikeout, leaving two stranded at the corners.
Post 64 battled back with three runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth as Janssen Widower reached on a one-out walk and stole second before Wheeler reached on a 2-base error that moved Widower to third.
Adcock followed with a 2 RBI single to left center that scored Widower and Wheeler and Adcock took second on the throw back to the infield. Brock’s groundout to Ballew at third advanced Adcock to third then Rockwell beat out an infield single on a chopper down the third base line for an RBI that scored Adcock.
Boister reached on an error to keep the Expos’ inning alive but Henderson picked Rockwell off second, ending the fourth.
Tamburo relieved Wheeler to start the fifth and notched a strikeout before Freemyer popped out to Brock at first. Godwin crushed a double to the left center alley but Tamburo fired back with another strikeout, ending the top half.
Trailing 7-4, Post 64 stirred up a rally in the bottom of the fifth and final inning against Ward, who replaced Henderson on the mound. With two down, pinch-hitter Josh Wilkinson laced a double down the third base line and moved to third on an errant throw.
Widower followed with an RBI single to right field that scored Wilkinson then Wheeler lifted a single to right field but Ward left the game-tying runners on first and second with a strikeout.

Heber 13, Stuttgart 4

Post 64 scored six runs on four doubles in the top of the first inning and ran away with the nightcap. Spencer Adcock got the start on the hill for the Expos and made quick work of Stuttgart in the top of the first by striking out the side after Logan Ward reached on a leadoff walk.
Facing Stuttgart starting pitcher Logan Ballew, Adcock got the Expos’ offense rolling in the bottom half by nailing a double to right field and he stole third and scored on an overthrow, giving Post 64 a 1-0 lead.
Caleb Brock followed with a walk then Tanner Rockwell drilled a double down the left field line.
Josh Wilkinson’s RBI grounder to shortstop was mishandled as all runners advanced and Brock scored. With runners at first and second, Chas Tamburo smashed an RBI double to deep left field that scored Rockwell and Janssen Widower added an RBI groundout to shortstop that plated Wilkinson, giving the Expos a 4-0 advantage.
Brett Boister walked and stole second as courtesy runner Garrett Wheeler scored then D’Kotah Douglass slammed an RBI double into the left center gap that scored Boister, giving the Expos a 6-0 lead.
Stuttgart relieved Balew with Lukas Murray and he got Tyler Reese to line-out to Godwin at third then Murray got Adcock on a dribbler back to the mound, ending the bottom half.
Stuttgart scratched across two runs on one hit in the top of the second as Ballew worked a full-count walk but Adcock fired back with his fourth strikeout.
Godwin took one for the team then a wild pitch and 2-base throwing error allowed Ballew and Godwin to score, leaving Post 64 with a 6-2 advantage.
Murray reached on a 4-pitch walk but Adcock retaliated with another strikeout before Logan Ward ripped a single to left field. With two runners in scoring position after a throwing error, Adcock notched his sixth strikeout of the game.
In the bottom of the second, Brock roped a single up the middle then Rockwell chopped out to Godwin at third, which moved Brock to second but Wilkinson flied out to center before Tamburo was hit-by-a-pitch.
With two runners on base, Murray got out of the jam when Widower popped out to Ballew at first.
Adcock continued to deal in the top of the third as he struck out the leadoff batter before robbing Henderson of a hit on a shot up the middle. Ballew followed with a dribbler to the left side of the mound that Adcock also handled with a strong throw.
Post 64 added one run on two hits in the bottom of the third. Boister crushed a double to left field before Douglass popped out to Ballew at first.
Reese belted an RBI single up the middle that plated Boister but Murray escaped further trouble by getting Adcock to groundout to Ward at shortstop then Brock lined out to Ward.
Trailing 7-2, Stuttgart closed the gap with two runs on three hits in the top of the fourth. After Adcock fanned the first hitter, Godwin reached on an infield single then Murray singled through the hole on the right side.
Travis Davenport walked to load the bases but Adcock got Ward on a chopper in front of the plate as he scooped it up and stepped on home plate to force Godwin.
With two down, Reid Counce worked an RBI walk that scored Murray before Kersieck pulled an RBI single through the hole on the left side that scored Davenport, leaving the Expos with a 7-4 lead. With the sacks still loaded, Adcock used a sharp breaking ball for a strikeout, ending the top half.
Post 64 bounced back with two runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth. Rockwell beat out an infield single to get the Expos started then Wilkinson pulled a single through the hole on the left side before Tamburo slammed an RBI double to deep center that scored Rockwell as Wilkinson pulled up at third.
Widower followed with an RBI groundout to first base that scored Wilkinson then Boister bounced to Godwin at third an he cut down Wheeler, a courtesy runner, at the plate.
Murray got out of the jam when Reese grounded out to Counce at second as Post 64 took a 9-4 lead to the top of the fifth.
Adcock plunked Ballew to start the top half then Trevor Freemyer beat out an infield single before Godwin worked a full-count walk. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Rockwell replaced Adcock and struck out the first two batters he faced before Ward bounced out to Adcock at shortstop, leaving the bases loaded.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Expos tacked on another run as Adcock led off with a single to center and Brock’s groundout to shortstop moved Adcock to third.
Rockwell belted an RBI single up the middle that scored Adcock as Post 64’s lead grew to 10-4 before Stuttgart relieved Murray with Davenport. Davenport did his job by striking out the first two batters he faced.
Rockwell retired Stuttgart in order in the top of the sixth as he got Counce on a check-swing dribbler back to the mound then Kersieck grounded out to Adcock at shortstop before Rockwell notched a strikeout, ending the top half.
Post 64 added three runs on two hits in the bottom half as Boister reached on a one-out walk and took second on a wild pitch before Douglass took first base on an error that allowed Boister to score.
Stuttgart replaced Davenport with Counce before Reese beat out an infield single on a high chopper off the plate then Adcock walked before Brock’s RBI single to center field scored Douglass, giving the Expos a 12-4 lead.
Rockwell followed with an RBI walk that scored Reese as Post 64’s lead grew to 13-4 but Counce evaded further trouble by getting Tamburo to groundout to Godwin at third.
Wilkinson replaced Rockwell in the top of the seventh and gave up a single to Ballew before striking out the next batter. Ballew took second on a wild pitch then Freemyer walked but Wilkinson notched a strikeout then forced a groundout to end the game.
