Heber dishes out awards at spring banquet

Heber Springs High School recently gave out awards at the Spring Athletic Banquet.
For girls track, Dixie Grammer won the Lady Panther Award, Elizabeth Krug won the Outstanding Lady Panther Award and Amy Powell won the Dick McFall Memorial Award. Krug was also named All-State.
In boys track, Austin Hill, Jake Sanders, Michael Dorsey and Micah Cothren won made the Indoor track and field All-State team. Cothren won the Josh Park Memorial Award and Panther Award.
Clint Winberry won the Calvitt-Pruitt High Point Award. Dorsey and Andrew Hill won the Outstanding Panther Award and both also earned outdoor All-State recognition.
For baseball, Caleb Brock, Spencer Adcock, Tanner Rockwell and Brett Boister received 2-4A All-Conference recognition.
Chas Tamburo won the Panther Pride Award, Michael Bryant won the Gold Glove Award, Adcock won the Cy Young Award and Rockwell was named team MVP.
In softball, Hannah Hargis and Katie Webb were named to the 4A All-State team while Tamara Moore, Casey Sumpter, Katie Dixon, Hargis and Webb were named 2-4A All-Conference.
Brooke Blankenship won the Offense Award, Alex Henry won the Defense Award, Victoria Clegg won the Rookie of the Year and Hayley Reed won the Lady Panther Award.
For boys basketball, Tyler Thomas, Andy Gallaway and Alex Teas were named 2-4A All-Conference while Thomas brought home the Offense Award, Gallaway  won the Hustle Award, Wes McMullen won the Defense Award and Teas won the Panther Award.
For girls basketball, Jena Kelley was selected for the 2-4A All-Conference team and Katie Dixon was named to the 4A All-State Tournament team.
Kelley won the Offense Award, Dixon won the Defense Award, Hali Tury won the Hustle Award, Kelsey Southerland won the Lady Panther Award while Elizabeth Krug and Taylor Hinton shared the Most Improved Award.
