The top-seeded Lady Red Hawks (18-2), whose only losses this season came to 7A Cabot and 5A Vilonia, cruised past fourth-seeded Quitman 50-28 on Monday in the semifinals of the Greers Ferry Lake Classic.

The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead as post player Reagan Rackley scored the game’s first three points, including a basket underneath in which she stayed with the play after initially having her shot blocked.

Quitman guard Savannah Henry dished to forward Larra Goff for a layup in transition and Rackley scored inside over two defenders off an inbound play, causing Nemo Vista to call for timeout with 4:49 left in the first quarter.

The Lady Red Hawks regrouped, pulling within two late in the first quarter. After Rackley scored off a smooth give and go with point guard Maggie Webb, Nemo Vista guard Jacie Andrews sank a free throw and forward Sade Harrison added a putback.

With the Lady Bulldogs clinging to a 9-7 advantage, Henry dropped a floater in a crowded lane, giving Quitman a four-point lead after one quarter of play.

Nemo Vista opened the second quarter with a 9-0 run as Harrison grabbed an offensive rebound and scored then guard Maggie Mahan scored seven consecutive, giving Nemo Vista its first lead with a three-pointer from right wing.

Quitman pulled within three on a pair of free throws from Rackley before the Lady Red Hawks closed the first half with a devastating 19-1 run sparked by Harrison, who scored twice in transition off assists from Mahan.

Guard Chase Paladino buried a three-pointer and guard Jacie Andrews drilled two shots from beyond the arc as Nemo Vista extended its lead to 35-14 by halftime.

The Lady Red Hawks outscored Quitman 8-6 in the third quarter and cruised in the fourth.

Mahan paced Nemo Vista with 15 points, Andrews followed with 12 and Harrison scored all 10 of her points in the first half. Paladino and forward Kassidy Thompson each added four points, forward Alli Brown and guard Adrianna Munoz each had a basket and guard Layleigh Johnson made a free throw for the Lady Red Hawks, who faced Rose Bud on Tuesday in the title game.

Rackley scored a game-high 21 points for Quitman (8-5). Forward Rieley Hooten contributed three points, while Henry and guard LouElla Garza each had a bucket.
