Family Jam slated in Muskogee

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will host a “Family Jam” at 8 p.m. today at the Frisco Depot, 401 S. Third St. in Muskogee, Okla. Local musicians such as Harley Hamm, Jim Paul Blair, Elizabeth Escobar, Angelina Villegas-Cummings and more will play country, funk, rock, folk, pop and other styles. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Seussical the Musical Jr. to be staged

The Community School of the Arts Children’s Theatre will stage the musical production "Seussical the Musical Jr." at 7 p.m. May 12 and at 2 p.m. May 13 at the King Opera House, 427 Main St. in Van Buren. A cast of 27 students in grades third-sixth from area schools participate in this program.

Mickey Gilley to play free show

Singer-songwriter Mickey Gilley will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. May 13 at Lee Creek Tavern inside Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland, 109 Cherokee Blvd. in Roland. Gilley's hits include “Room Full of Roses,” “I Overlooked an Orchid,” “City Lights,” “Bouquet of Roses” and “Don’t the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time.” All attendees must be 21 or older to attend.
