The Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, 1601 Rogers Ave., will hold an opening reception for the Carlos Luna exhibit from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the museum. Combining aspects of Cuban, Mexican and American cultures, Luna creates a new language in his work illustrating universal themes such as passion, humor, conflict and sensuality.

RAM will showcase more than 30 pieces by Luna that include mixed media on wood, oil on canvas and large-scale Jacquard tapestries.
