Allison Nichole Cloyes became the first baby of 2018 to be born in the Conway Regional Women’s Center. Allison weighed seven pounds and four ounces at birth and is 18 ½ inches in length. She was born at 10:16 pm on Monday, January 1, to Gabrielle Eldridge and Matthew Cloyes of Quitman. Allison’s due date was Christmas weekend and she waited until New Year’s day. The baby was delivered by Brandie Johnson, MD, and was followed throughout the pregnancy by Debra Lawrence, MD, who are obstetrician-gynecologists with the Conway Women’s Health Center. In 2017, 1865 babies were born at the Conway Regional Women’s Center.

 Baby Xavior helped his mom, Rebecca, ring in the New Year in a special way.  Xavior Robert was the first baby of 2018 at White River Medical Center (WRMC) in Batesville.  He was born on January 2, 2018 at 8:34am and delivered by Dr. Caroline Carlton.

Xavior Robert Dawson Skala weighed in at 7 pounds, 10.8 ounces, and was over 20 inches long.

Xavior has three big brothers, ages 9, 3 and 1.  Rebecca, says the two older boys have been especially excited about Xavior’s arrival and will be a big help to their mom. 

“Three out of four of my children have been born at WRMC,” said Rebecca.  “Every experience was amazing.”

Rebecca is a resident of the Cave City area.  Originally from Newport, she lived in California before returning to North Central Arkansas.

“I was excited to find out that I was WRMC’s first mother to have a baby in the new year,” she said. “This has been a great way to start the year.”

Rebecca received a gift basket that included: Lotions, diapers, wipes, a onesie donated byT-Shirt Express, a pacifier with stuffed animal holder donated by the WRMC Gift Shop, a "date night" package that includes "two spaghetti dinners" donated bythe Italian Grill, and two movie passes donated byThe Melba Theater.

Both Xavior and his mom are doing excellent and are excited to go home to start enjoying the New Year.
