Springfest 2018 is over. The rides have been taken down, vendors have packed up and gone. Over the last several years the crowds have been estimated to be around 3,000. This year it would seem that the crowds were even bigger. From the looks on the children’s faces (and some adults too) everyone had a really great time! From the rides to the great musicians who provided a variety of entertainment for everyone, from the littlest to the oldest. Rep. Rick Crawford and his Triple Nickel Band performed on Friday evening to a courthouse lawn of listeners and quite a few dancers. The local gospel band, By Grace, performed and their 14 year old lead singer seemed to blow the crowd away with her awesome voice. The Sun Times is working on a future article about her story.

Congratulations to Kathy Phillips and the Heber Springs Downtown Network for a job well done. Phillips would like to thank the following sponsors for their  support: Heber Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission, Timeless 106.1 radio, McDonalds, XTO Energy, Sherwood Urgent Care, Cowboy Chevrolet, The LAKE 101.9, G&W Diesel Services/Emergency Vehicle Specialists, Holiday Inn Express, Eagle Bank & Trust and Downtown Heber Springs Network.

Look to Friday’s edition for winners of the Springfest pageant.
