The Concord FCCLA recently prepared baked goods for The Hedge and The Other Side organizations. Students used their culinary skills to make cheesecake, homemade apple pies, cherry and peach cobblers, and a variety of cakes. Students are encouraged to look for ways to reach out to their communities to find ways to volunteer and help those in need. FCCLA not only had fun, but residents of both ministries enjoyed delicious desserts.

The Hedge Ministry outreach program provides housing for men who are overcoming drug addictions by providing support, spiritual leadership and help in finding jobs. The ultimate goal is for residents to be productive citizens within their community. It is under the direction of Mr. Jason Sprouse.

The Other Side is located in Wilburn. It is a local mission dedicated to helping those who are struggling with addictions. Jay Cupit founded The Other Side in 2014 with the knowledge that people struggling with addictions often felt they were the only ones having these problems. Jeff Thomas is the director.

Both organizations are non-profit and rely upon donations for support. If you have any questions or would like to help donate, please contact them or go to their websites.
