The CCC was designed to provide jobs for young men and to relieve families who had difficulty finding jobs during the Great Depression in the United States.The CCC cap is known as a "garrison" or "overseas" cap, it was worn with the dress uniform, rather than with work clothes. This particular cap features the circular patch with the landscape design that became the CCC insignia in 1939.

Steelworkers Union.
