First Electric Cooperative’s member-supported Operation Round-Up program awarded $23,250 to 23 local organizations in April. Members who enroll in Operation Round-Up volunteer to have their electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount each month.

Cleburne County recipients include:

Breakin Bread – $2,000

The Other Side – $1,500

Drasco Fire Department – $1,500

Gospel Garage Automotive Ministry Corp. – $1,000

Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Cleburne Co. – $1,000

United Way of North Central Arkansas – Imagination Library – $1,000

The cooperative’s members have donated more than $1.28 million for local service organizations and scholarships for high school seniors since 1998.
