HEBER SPRINGS — A boat parade in support of Pres. Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection brought a large crowd to Heber Springs’ Sandy Beach last weekend.
The event, put together by a Facebook social media group “Arkansas Boaters for Trump,” began with a beach-side festival before boaters made a parade lap on the lake, with most boats sporting a combination of American flags and the familiar blue “Trump 2020” flag.
Spokesman Greg Price said approximately 1,800 boats participated with over 20,000 people in attendance, including those gathered on the shoreline to watch the parade along its four and a half mile course.
“I had one person tell me that in over 40 years on the lake he had never seen anything like this,” Price said.
The event featured speakers, including Congressman French Hill, Arkansas Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and Commissioner of State Lands Tommy Land. The event also included a fly-over by a nine-aircraft formation.
Arkansas Boaters for Trump shows plans for additional boat parades on other Arkansas lakes in the weeks to come.
