HEBER SPRINGS — James Farris will be joining the Heber Springs Church of Christ Jan. 2020 as the pulpit minister.
The current minister, Bill Pratt, is retiring after 49 years of preaching, including over five of those at Heber Springs. Farris will spend his time each week preaching and teaching at Heber Springs as well as guest speaking on various occasions. He was born in Newport, Arkansas, and is a fourth-generation gospel preacher who enjoys writing, reading and promoting the cause of Christ in whatever ways God permits.
Farris recently completed his twenty-ninth year as a minister.
Farris and his wife Priscilla were married in 1993, and have five sons. He was educated at the International Bible College, Freed-Hardeman University, Lubbock Christian University, and Faulkner University with degrees in Bible, Biblical Studies; as well as graduate and post-graduate credits at Harding Graduate School of Religion.
Farris has preached for churches in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Florida, and has done mission work in Saint Vincent and the Bequia Islands. He is a published author having written eight books, as well as other religious journals and publications.
