Phyllis Jean Fry passed away June 9, 2018

Phyllis Jean Fry of Concord, Arkansas passed away at Baptist North Little Rock in the early morning of June 9th, 2018.

Jean as she was known to family and close friends, was born on February 8th, 1932 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.  Traveling with her family for pipeline work brought her to beautiful Heber Springs, Arkansas where she met her husband of 69 years, Chester Fry, Sr..  Her marriage to Chester took her across the continental United States and Canada as he worked as an operating engineer on the pipeline and later drove a truck and trailer.  In retirement, Jean and Chester resettled in Concord where she enjoyed singing in church and dotting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Most of all, she loved celebrating each and every holiday with good home cooked food for her loved ones, especially Granny’s Hot Rolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chester E. Fry, Sr. of Concord, AR, son Chester E. Fry, Jr. of Heber Springs, AR,  and her mother Audrey Lytle ofKittanning, PA.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Lanny) Brackett, granddaughters Tana (Clint) Brown, Caitlin (Aaron) Shipp, all of Concord, AR,  granddaughter Lacey Brackenridge of Heber Springs, AR,  grandson Trent Fry of Kentucky, great-granddaughters Danlee Brown and Savanna Shipp of Concord, AR,  and great-grandson Landen Fry of Kentucky.  Mrs. Fry is also survived by many other relatives and close friends.

The family would like to thank Baptist of North Little Rock, Baptist of Heber Springs and North Star EMS for their care and assistance during her stay at each.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11th, 2018from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and funeral services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 at Olmstead Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Heber Springs Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Clint Brown, Aaron Shipp, Lanny Brackett, Jimmy Parrott, Clay Dickerson and Randy Carr.
