Riley Wiley (R. W.) Towery

Riley Wiley (R. W.) Towery the son of Glen Towery and Virginia Harper Towery was born in Shirley, Arkansas on June 8, 1934 and passed away at Heber Springs, Arkansas on July 4, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

R. W. was a retired lumber company worker and member of the Greers Ferry 1st Assembly of God Church.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and past Master of the Sam Williams Masonic Lodge #89 of Greers Ferry.   

He loved his tractor, working outside, cows, going to auctions, and yard sales.  He worked hard all his life.   He was a good man that loved his family very much.  He lived a simple life and content life.  He loved to read and could talk about a lot of subjects.  He was a 1953 graduate of Shirley High School.  He joined the United States Army in 1958.  He took his basic training with Elvis Presley and served in Germany.  He was a member of Greers Ferry First Assembly of God.  He volunteered on Greers Ferry Ambulance for 22 years until his health forced him to retire.  He was a member and past Master of Sam Williams Masonic Lodge # 89.  He will always be in the hearts of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Virginia Towery.  Survivors are his wife Ermadean Finch Towery  of Greers Ferry, Bruce Towery and wife Margie of Greenbrier, brother Roy J. Towery of Salt lake City, Utah, two grandchildren Chad Towery and wife Amber of Harrison and Chelsey Berry and husband Tyler of Greenbrier and one great granddaughter Madeline Berry besides many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A visitation was held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.N. at First Assembly of God Church, Greers Ferry and funeral services were at the church on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. by Rev. Darvin Carlton with interment in Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery.   Arrangements by Family Funeral Service.
