Charles Boyd Davenport passed away September 7, 2018

Charles Boyd Davenport the son of Charles Henry Davenport and Rosie Ann Bishop Davenport was born in Gosnell, Arkansas on August 16, 1931 and passed away in Searcy, Arkansas on September 7, 2018 at the age of 87 years.

He was a retired police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department in Los Angeles, California.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Drill Sergeant and a mechanic.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rosie Davenport and 10 siblings.  He is survived by his wife Lura Maxine Hendrix Davenport, son Charles Boyd Davenport and wife Marilyn of Memphis, Tennessee, two daughters Angela Tatum and husband Ricky and Dina Johnson and husband Mike all of Heber Springs. one sister Marie Organ of Cary, Mississippi. Charles is also survived by five grandchildren: Hope Glover, Hollie Price, Khara Henderson, Paige Hipp and Charles Davenport III, and fifteen great grandchildren besides other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Family Funeral Service from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. and Funeral Services will be in Family Funeral Service Chapel on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. by Rev. Larry Wilhite. Burial will be with full military honors by American Legion Post 64 of Heber Springs in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Henderson, Clint Hipp, Charlie Davenport, Mike Johnson, Blake Henderson and Gabriel Davenport. Arrangements Family Funeral Service.
