Dorothy Mae Lafkin, age 90, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away April 3, 2020. Born on March 3, 1930 in Hiram, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Bird “Birdie” and Arnold Hays.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Kenneth Lafkin, her sons Larry and Clinton “Clint” Lafkin, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by two daughters Sandra Stallings and her husband Willie and Noma Woodall and her husband Woody, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was Memaw to many who knew and loved her. She had a heart of gold and children were drawn to her by her loving nature. She had a love of nature and saw beauty everywhere. Dorothy was an avid quilter and very talented seamstress. All of her quilts were a work of art. She loved making and giving her quilts away to family and friends. She loved her flowers and plants. Many people brought their plants to her for help since she had a green thumb.

Dorothy will be forever cherished and missed by her family and friends.

Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband bill at a private interment service in Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville, Arkansas. A memorial service for friends and family will be scheduled at a later date.
