The Heber Springs Hybrids are looking for some little fishies to become vicious competitors in the new swim team forming at the community center. The Hybrids will be holding tryouts at the aquatic center on Tuesday, October 9 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
Parents may register children ages six and up for the swim team at the time of the tryouts. Tryout participants must be able to swim the entire length of the swimming pool without any assistance to be considered for the team.
The Hybrids will be coached by certified swim instructor and lifeguard instructor Beth Jones. Jones may be familiar to many in the area as she has taught swimming at the community center for several years.
Besides competing in competitions, the swim team will be doing fundraising to replace necessary equipment that the former swim team kept when they left the Heber Springs area.
As a registered non-profit organization, the Hybrids have a board consisting of three members. The president/secretary is Brittney Gaddy, the vice-president/treasurer is April Ogle, and Sarah White is a board member.
